RFID reader

An RFID reader is a device that allows you to read, write, and transmit data from RFID tags over a wireless communication channel.

The reader allows you to automate a wide range of operations for acceptance, shipment, inventory, and accounting.

There are two most common types of RFID readers:

A mobile RFID reader is a device that resembles a conventional classic smartphone with a special built-in RFID module for interacting with tags. Due to its compactness, this type of reader can be easily used by employees in a variety of conditions and locations to obtain an operational flow of information.

Stationary RFID readers

Stationary RFID readers are hardware complexes with a system of additional antennas that are installed at certain control points for active tag reading.

This type of reader are more powerful and allows you to read tags in a given radius around the antennas at the control point.

Ranges of operation of RFID readers:

LF (125 kHz) is the range for near reading at a distance of no more than 10 cm.
HF (13.56 MHz) is the range for reading at a distance of no more than 1 m.
UHF (865 — 868 MHz) is a range for reading at a maximum distance of 30 m.
